Getting back from the New Year and starting on these two models. I think they are not as painterly as I like them to be possibly because I try hard to capture the likeness of them.

This was awkward. I came in late to the session and the spot that I chose to paint was where he was looking toward! It was un-easy to paint when a good looking model was literally staring at you!

A bit warm and saturated but I love her neck!

Not the greatest photos of the paintings…These are some studies from the long pose classes this year. I had been working hard on flesh tones.

mlport1.smI decided it’s time to upload some of my works that I’ve been doing! It will be a great way to get myself more involved with the progress. This painting was done a few months ago in a long pose class.

This painting was done this week. The model liked it and asked me if he can take a photo of it to use on his website! I was skeptical about it but felt flattered  so I gave him the ok.

The man in vest was done in Randy’s class on Wednesday this week. It was quick and dirty!denisesm

Profile one was of Denise, she helped posing one night for us.

OilonCanvas01smThis is one of my favorite from Randy’s last class.

MtDia01smI took a plein air workshop with Bryan a few weeks ago. It was great! I was so excited that I had a car crash driving there the 1st day! I’m ok but my car wasn’t. Anyways, these 2 paintings are my 1st attempts to paint landscapes in oil. The palette is limited here. I’m still learning. Both are done in Mt. Diablo.

Pastel on canson paper. They were really challenging but fun! These are some of the ones I like from Bill’s classes. Those violet colors are wow! Waiting for the sunsets and sunrises….marina2smMulRidge2.sm
